Ackerman McQueen appoints Dallas director

David Lipson has been appointed managing director of Ackerman McQueen’s office in Dallas and Chris Coleman was promoted to executive vice president/corporate director of brand planning for the Oklahoma City-based company.
Debby Johnson, executive vice president/corporate director of marketing and strategic planning, has been assigned full-time marketing planning responsibilities for Premier Parks/Six Flags. The $70 million account has been an Ackerman McQueen client since 1994.
Lipson, 31, joined Ackerman McQueen in 1990 as a copywriter. He has directed creative campaigns for Pizza Hut, Southwestern Bell Wireless, Purolator, the Dallas Cowboys, LeapFrog Educational Toys and Brunswick Recreation Systems.
Coleman, 37, joined Ackerman McQueen in 1992 from Pepsi Cola, where he was a field marketing manager.
Chemicals
David M. Callow has been named managing director of European operations effective Aug. 1 by Kerr-McGee Chemical, wholly owned by Kerr-McGee Corp. The company’s European operations include titanium dioxide pigment plants in Uerdingen, Germany, and Antwerp, Belgium.
Callow brings more than 25 years of industry experience to his new assignment. Most recently, he served as managing director of Tioxide Southern Africa.
He holds bachelor of arts and master of arts degrees in economics and natural science from the University of Cambridge, England.

Dana Sivigliano has joined Midlands Management as a quality control coordinator. She was a quality control coordinator with Haas & Wilkerson in Shawnee Mission, Kan.
Sherry Copeland has joined the staff at Valvoline Instant Oil Change in Oklahoma City as commercial accounts representative.
Shannon Kelso of Caddo has joined Staff One as client service specialist. She was an accountant and human resources director at Durant Plastics.
Steven Moran will oversee the operations and food procurement programs as associate director of the Oklahoma City Food Bank. Moran previously served as manager of category marketing and procurement of Fleming Foods.

Scott Bouslog has been promoted regional manager for Jackson National Life Insurance’s Mid-America regional office. He will oversee the sales force in Oklahoma, Colorado, Kansas and Missouri.
Deborah Kay Watson, Barbara J. McAnulty and Steven Conway have joined the underwriting staff of American Agency System of Oklahoma City. AAIS has expanded its Underwriting Services Division.
Nancy A. Bumgarner, senior manager for the health care practice of KPMG Peat Marwick, has been transferred to Houston from the Oklahoma City office.

Allen Leaird of Coalgate has been named chairman of Citizens for Electric Opportunities, a coalition concerned with the impact of electric deregulation. He is director of transportation energy and housing with Big Five Community Services in Durant.
Paul Jackson of Apache has been elected chairman of the Oklahoma Wheat Commission. Bart Brorsen of Perry was elected vice chairman and Keith Kisling of Burlington was elected secretary-treasurer.
Paula Printup of the Oklahoma Health Care Authority, has been named president of the Central Oklahoma Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators.
Doug Folks of the Oklahoma Education Association was elected vice president. Also elected to the chapter’s board of directors were Jim Donahue, of Mathis Brothers, vice president of membership; Jill Fraim of Midwest Regional Medical Center, vice president of programs; Taylor Wilken of the Oklahoma Bankers Association, vice president of publications; April Sandefer, Advantage Marketing Systems and Gina Stanley, directors of Black Gold awards program; Anna Reeves of the Oklahoma Association of HomeCare, director of special projects; and Rita Lee, of Oklahoma Publishing Co., secretary-publicity.
Douglas Tippens, executive vice president of American Heritage Bank in El Reno, has been elected president of the Higher Education Alumni Council of Oklahoma. He represents Oklahoma State University on the board.

Jack Goddard of Oklahoma City has been elected chair of the Oklahoma Alcohol Beverage Enforcement Commission. Goddard is director of administrative services for the Oklahoma Health Care Authority. He was elected vice chair in 1997 before stepping up to the chairmanship.
Bryan Close was elected vice chair. Close lives in Jenks and operates an oilfield related manufacturing firm in Tulsa.
Bill Bartley, a Lawton businessman, has been named chairman of the Oklahoma State Education Employees Group Insurance Board
